TRIP DETAILS + INFORMATION 

We are excited to host our very first Intro to Archery event! All archery equipment will be provided for use the day of the shoot. We will be meeting at a large, outdoor archery range located at Lon Hagler State Wildlife Area in Loveland, Co - Dennis Hansen Archery Range. We will meet at the entry gate of the range where we will enter together at 9am the day of the event.

This event is best suited for children 9 & up due to the level of safety, attention, and listening required. Parents should stay on site during this event. Upon arrival, we will sign in, receive name tags, and do introductions to ensure everyone is comfortable. Our instructor is joining us from the Hunting/ Angling Education department for Colorado Parks & Wildlife. She will go into detail covering basic archery steps & instructions, ethical shooting and harvesting, and safe practice habits. It is important that everyone pay attention & have open ears ready to listen- but mostly have a blast learning the basics of archery! She will assist everyone getting comfortable with their bow before heading out to shoot targets. Volunteers are welcome to stay and assist in basic help and needs while we move from area to area. This range offers 25 shooting stations, 3D targets, and a designated kids shooting area.

We will wrap up the event with a light snack and drinks while reviewing what we learned and sharing thoughts about the event. Bathrooms are on site. Please wear comfortable clothing and closed toed shoes. Bring a light jacket or layers that can be removed as the weather can quickly change.
